Want better hair? start with a better scalp

My friend (star) keeps telling me to try out her home remedy which she uses on her hair
 it consists of  an onion, garlic and olive oil!!

I never tried it because I cant stand the smell but her hair is killing me mashallah I just love her hair and its growing soo fast mashallah mashallah (ill get pics next time I see her probably next week) -
 and she swears by this mixture!!
So Im gona at7ammal the smell and give this a try and see how it goes

before trying this out, I did my research ..
(type into google onion garlic for hair)
theres so many sites that mention how good those two herbs are good for hair;
help stop hair loss and promote hair growth.. something along those lines..

:

"Garlic is not just good for our body, but also for our hair. Garlic extract can remove and destroy harmful toxins and stimulate blood circulation, important in the scalp for proper hair care and growth and prevent hair loss. Addition of garlic extract in shampoo helps to keep hair strong, preventing breakage and hair loss, while adding significant body and shine. For those with dry hair or itchy scalps, the garlic extract shampoos also provide relief from the irritating symptoms.

How can we use garlic for hair loss remedy? - An hour before bedtime, slice open a clove of garlic and rub it on the hair loss area. Wait for an hour then massage the scalp with olive oil. Put on a cap and go to bed. In the morning, shampoo your hair. Repeat this remedy for a few weeks, and hopefully hair will stop falling out and re-grow.

Onion (Allium cepa) recognised with healing qualities include their antibacterial, cleansing, stimulating, and nourishing powers. Onions contain a number of important minerals and vitamins, such as vitamins C and B6, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and germanium. Onion also has a high sulfur content. Sulphur is a mineral present in every cell in our body, with its greatest concentration in hair, skin and nails. It has often been called the "beauty mineral" and the "healing mineral" because of its ability to promote circulation and decrease inflammation. These qualities also lend to the theory that adequate amounts of sulphur can jump-start hair growth in people with deficiencies. High amounts of sulphur in onions make them particularly effective in regenerating hair follicles and stimulating hair regrowth. In addition, naturally-concentrated sulphur compounds have been proven to show additional hair-restoring.

Hair loss remedy with onion - apply freshly-squeezed, raw onion juice directly onto the scalp, massage deep into the scalp and hair roots. Left on the scalp for about half-an-hour before shampooing. Do these treatments everyday. In most cases, regular onion treatments will result in dramatic improvement of hair thickness within just several months. Since onion juice restores hair follicles and improves scalp circulation, it will help to promote the strong-hair growth."

Stars way of using these is a little different, she mixes garlic, onion and olive oil all together and massages it into her hair before taking a shower .. anyway today is my day 1 im gona do this twice weekly for the next 2 months!

Heres what you need:

1/2 an onion;

3 garlic coves;

add olive oil;

put in the blender..

and it should look likee....

you rub this mixture on your scalp and leave it on for atleast 1 HOUR

 if you cant take the smell, cover your hair with a shower cap and a towel.. it helps.. a little

Hope this works(fingers crossed), I really want long hair asap!!

Good luck to everyone else who has the same aim!! :D

Go Natural

Why buy products when you can make your own with food from your kitchen? Here are a few that came on my mind (and I've tried)

  • dry blemishes using baking soda and a few drops of water to form a paste

  • Rub your face with orange peels to cleanse (great source of vitamin c + natural dirt and oil gripping fibers)

  • An over- ripe avicado makes a rich face mask, leave for 15 mins (VERY moistureizing)

  • whiten teeth with baking soda (add to your toothpaste)

  • add sugar to olive oil and use as body scrub

  • Brighten dull skin with a lemon sugar srub (lemon juice + sugar and mix before sugar dissolves)

  • Deep hair mask (over ripe bananas + spoonful of honey per banana)

  • put raw potatoe slices on your eyes to reduce dark circles

  • And I just wana add this, APPLY SUNSCREEN SO YOU DONT WORRY ABOUT WRINKLES LATER

Eye make up remover

I've used so many diffrent makeup removers in the past but since I came across the BIODERMA, I've stuck to it. I simply love it. It doesn't have a scent (fragrance free), doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, doesn't feel greasy, leaves face feeling fresh and clean and it soothes.

You can get this at pharmacies. I got mine at cairo pharmacy which is besides plaza 7awalli and its KD 4.580

Did you know? You don't really need a make up remover. Sometimes when I run out of my BIODERMA I make my own make up remover which is so easy to do.

You will need:
water
Olive oil
empty container/ dispenser (ay mokan that sell bathroom stuff.. even MAC has some)

Mix 3/4 of the bottle with water with 1/4 olive oil and Voila there you have your chemical free all natural ingredients make up remover. Just shake it before you use each time.

Does Toothpaste Remove a Zit?

While toothpaste is helpful in drying out a zit, the fluoride in it can actually burn your skin. There are better OTC options for zapping a zit without the potential burn. For a much safer paste that will help resolve a whitehead, try the home remedy of mixing a little cornstarch and water and dabbing it on overnight, says New York City dermatologist Dr. Francesca J. Fusco.
